If you have a loved one or friend in an area where a disaster has happened such as an earthquake, tsunami, cyclone, etc. please try to contact them through telephone, internet or satellite phone. If you have already found that all communications are down, one of our radio operators may be able to help you.

There are no guarantees that we can communicate with the party you wish to contact.
We have to depend on local ham radio operators in the disaster area to set up portable stations that will run on emergency electric or car batteries.
If there are no ham stations set up to handle emergency communications in the area, we cannot assist you.
Even if there are stations set up, there is no guarantee the person you wish to contact will be able to locate or physically get to these emergency portable radio stations.
We also have to depend on certain radio atmospheric conditions for optimum communications with these low powered emergency radio stations.
If we can indeed contact a station in the disaster area, we can at least tell them who you are looking for and hopefully this information will get to those persons and we can eventually report on their well being.
There is no charge for this service.
It is primarily for emergency communications to areas of disaster outside the United States.
It is provided to you as a public service through the Greater Norwalk Amateur Radio Club and some of it's member radio operators.
