GNARC - Fox Hunt

A little premature perhaps....

But there is a fox out there and it is operational. However it is in test mode right now to determine how long the battery will last. The goal is to have it run at least two weeks. Currently it is on 146.550 simplex with a PL of 110.9 Hz.

To get the fox to transmit, simply key your transmitter, identify, then press the touch tone digit ONE for half a second. If you are within range of the fox you will here it respond with a very unique sequence of tones followed by CW ID. The signal will stay on for about a minute for DF'ing the fox. This can be repeated as needed until you either find the fox or give up.

More information will be forthcoming as the unit gets closer to completion.

There will be a facility for logging in the date, time and location where you found the fox right here on the GNARC web site.

I will keep everyone posted on the status of this, but anyone interested can start DF'ing the fox now. So get your equipment warmed up, dusted off and get out there and...FIND the FOX.

Good Luck
